A unflinching glimpse into identity, colonialism, and whitewashing through the prism of an unapologetic Arab artist's experience within a Western context. It is a process of reclaiming her sense of self through an act of defiance. It is a tribute to all women of colour who have been marginalised and, all too often, erased.

The creative process through Samt sat on the fringes of experimental and controlled multimedia that combined visual, audio and written work. The journey encompassed the understanding of fragmented grief, place, borders and cultural dissonance.
